Cloudy drizzly morning then just cloudy and mild
Oban
McCaig's Folly
This morning we decided to climb up the hill behind Oban to McCaig's Folly

It was a pretty steep climb - all the way - lots of little rests. When we were younger we drove up there in James's car. Now we are old we walk??
... until finally we got there:
The view was pretty good:
On the way down we had enough breath to admire this lovely cottage:
... its lovely garden:
... and the gate:
and larger place
until we got to the bottom again:
Looks lovely & worth the climb.
ReplyDeleteThe woman in blue in the last picture is a New Zealander married to a Scot. We struck up a conversation when I overheard her NZ accent. It's amazing how you tune into a voice from home when you're surrounded by foreign voices and languages.

I walked up there a long time ago when I was about 11 I guess, don't remember it being a hard climb, but then as I said I was just a kid! Loved the view from up there. Agnes
