Otterbourne - Arrival
Today we set off for Otterbourne to visit Anthony (my cousin on my mother's side) and Angela
Saunders for today and tomorrow.
The TomTom was a godsend, as I don’t think that we would
have negotiated our way through the maze of motorways to get there. It took
about two hours and a bit. We came upon Otterbourne quite suddenly and there
was Meadow Cottage on our right!
Angela came down from the back garden to meet us and Anthony
appeared from the front. Meadow Cottage is a lovely old house with a quirky
room layout, low ceilings and filled with stuff.
While Angela got lunch ready Anthony and I had a good chat
about the Saunders and Mains family
We had a beautiful lunch outside.
Anthony suggested that after lunch, we go down the Saint Cross Church to look at the old Almshouses and the Church associated with it –
and afterwards have a look at its garden so off we went in Angela’s BMW – very
nice.
