Tantallon Castle, The Bass Rock & Ross & Margaret Laidlaw
Well we all set off today for Tantallon Castle near Dunbar so that Emi and Kai could experience another castle. I remembered visiting there with my cousin Graham and his mother Aunty Flora in about 1952. This was the first day that we used Google Maps, instead of our GPS, to get there and back! The only thing was that on the way back it took us through all the back streets of central Edinburgh to get back to Craigcrook Road on the other side - cobbled streets and wynds and all - we nearly gave up and went back to the GPS.
It was an impressive place. Up to the entrance:

Over the cliff was the deep blue sea:
... and The Bass Rock - a sanctuary for a huge variety of sea birds - including Puffins:
The we were off to Dunbar to visit my half brother Ross and his wife Margaret who entertained us right royally with lunch and afternoon tea
