Travel to Edinburgh
We had to drop the car back at Hertz at Bristol Airport - bit of a mission trying to find how to get in to Hertz at the airport. We really need to do just as the GPS told us, as we sometimes felt she had it wrong!
It was along walk up to the Departures at the Airport ...
... and then a long wait till we could drop our Hold bags off at 1:45. A machine weighed the bags and printed our labels which we folded round the handle. We the dropped the bag onto the the conveyor which scanned the label and took it off!
Had something to eat and waited till 3:15 when the gate opened for our flight. A notice came up saying the flight was delayed till 4:20. This meant it wouldn't get there till 5:30. I was a bit worried that Hertz might be closed at Edinburgh and tried to ring with no luck.
We were then boarding and eventually took off at 4:40 pm.
At Edinburgh we had to wait ages for our bags but Hertz was open! We got a brand new Kia from park 92 at the Hertz site at the airport ...
... and we were off to 110 Craigcrook Road. Straight forward journey except for one funny intersection where we couldn't turn right and had to dog leg around a side road to get there - had to do it twice as the first time we got it wrong.
Found the address, and there was Ian's friendly face at the door with Emi and Kristy close behind him. Kai had gone to bed.
Ian had cooked a great pasta and something dish with a Shiraz wine provided by Neil. It was lovely. We all had a good chat over dinner, cleaned up and went to bed pretty tired. It had been an unexpectedly long day.
