Cloudy but warm
Eyemouth Fishing Village & Coldingham Sands
We set off in good time this morning heading for Eyemouth along the A1. We parked the cars in the little car park at the end of Victoria Road and walked along Albert Street to my old Primary School. This is the girls' entrance. The boys was round the corner to the right.
Then we walked down a narrow little alleyway to the harbour and the fishing boats:
When we walked back to the cars we came across this memorial to all the fisherman who lost their lives in the terrible storm of 1928 (Ithink). On the top is a row of all the women looking out through the storm for their husbands and sons to come home - which they didn't
Not far from there was Giacopazzi's icecream van. He had a bicycle back in my day.
Not far from there was the Eyemouth Town Hall
Then we walked back up to the cars and drove over to the house "Baglieburn" where we lived as a family back in the early 1950s. You can see the house in the background:
After that we got back in the cars and drove the short distance to Coldingham Sands:
On the way down to the beach we found a seal pup. The RSPCA up by the cafe were keeping an eye on it:
Kai loved the waves - so much so that he fell in:
Emi made a sand trail:
Then it was time to go home
We had done a lot of walking so bought ice creams at the little beach cafe.
You had a busy day. You're giving me a tour round some of my favourite parts of home. Nice to see Coldingham sands again. Agnes
